Why do we feel we need the opposite sex to make us feel complete?

Why doesn't the company of the same sex make us feel better? Why can't we just live alone and be jus fine with it?

Love makes us feel euphorically different. Who wouldn't want that feeling, y'know? It may just be me but I will admit I feel more "complete" when I am with somebody. I think it's because you know that you are in love with that person and you can trust them. It's like we don't have that a lot with other people and when you open your heart to somebody and they make you feel amazing it's hard to let that feeling go.
