Why do women want to have sex again after they have given birth?

Why do women want to have sex again after they have given birth?

It seems after all that pain they might be like "I remember what happened last time I did that!". This is a serious question too, I am really wondering.
I am only 19 almost 20, So I am just wondering out of sheer curiousity. Plus I am a boy.

Most women I know don't. They are too focused on the new baby to even think about sex.
